I posted this on Facebook, and wanted to know if you would you be interested in walking through 40 days of prayer and journaling with me during Lent?
Spiritual reflection and prayer are core parts of this season, and that’s what Prayer and Pages is all about. If you’ve been feeling a deep desire to grow closer to God, Lent might be an opportunity for you to do just that!
It’s not about being super-religious, but investing in a sacred relationship.
Here is what I’m thinking…
-
DAILY JOURNALING: Starting THIS Wednesday, Feb. 22, we’ll aim to journal every day for at least 15 minutes, Monday – Saturday. I’ll send you encouraging notes about Lent, journaling, and prayer prompts, based on the RENEW Guided Journal to keep you focused and empowered. (Now, you don’t have to own the journal, but it definitely will be a more engaging experience if you do. If you have it and have already started it, that’s okay! It may be worthwhile to review what you’ve journaled. If you don’t have it and want it, you can get it via Amazon by Wednesday with Prime. I also have some limited hardback copies available here.)
-
24/7 VIRTUAL PRAYER ROOM: At any point in time during Feb. 22-April 6, you can request prayer, share testimonies and spiritual growth tips with others in an intimate, private online group. I believe community is ESSENTIAL during Lent. Fasting and praying solo is challenging. I don’t want you to feel like you’re in this alone so I created something just for us.
-
WEEKLY LIVE PRAYER CALL: We will then connect each week on Sundays at 8pm ET/5 pm PT for a prayer call and discussion, starting March 5.
Now before fear, doubt, and your inner perfectionist starts yapping, I already know 40 days is a commitment. Will you show up every day? Maybe, hopefully. Can you change your habits? Probably. Will life happen? Absolutely. But I’ll be right there with you!
It’s not about being perfect, but being perfected by the Perfect One!
Are you in? If yes, all you have to do is enter your info below, and you’ll be added to the invite list to receive emails, prayer room access, and prayer call details.
**P.S. If you’re feeling unsure about this whole “Lent” thing, no worries. I didn’t know a lot about it for much of my life. I wanted to find a good, non-controversial link to offer a summary of what it means, but that proved challenging, so Wikipedia it is:
“Lent is a solemn religious observance in the liturgical calendar commemorating the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert and enduring temptation by Satan, according to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, before beginning his public ministry. In Lent, many Christians commit to fasting, as well as giving up certain luxuries in imitation of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice during his journey into the desert for 40 days; this is known as one’s Lenten sacrifice. Many Lent-observing Christians also add a Lenten spiritual discipline, such as reading a daily devotional or praying through a Lenten calendar, to draw themselves near to God.”
